The Workforce Partners Council

The Workforce Partners Council (WPC) began in 2008 with representatives from SWORWIB, the United Way, Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services (HCJFS), the SuperJobs Center partner group, and the Greater Cincinnati Workforce Network (GCWN), after the SWORWIB’s President Marshall suggested that there were lots of repetitive meetings and not enough focused staff development for workforce providers.

Each network discussed combining meetings for staff development twice a year and the WPC held its first September 2008 Fall Staff Development Forum on service mapping, followed by the Winter 2009 Certification training and a Fall Forum. Each network still holds separate business related meetings, with staff development focused on the Spring and Fall WPC Forums. Because of staff reductions, HCJFS no longer sends a representative to the Council meetings but its employees still participate in training events.
